Hey guys! So this blog has been getting quite a lot of views so I have decided rather than just on Wednesdays, I will be posting on Sundays!
Now what I post is really going to depend on my week. It could be anything from blogs, to day trip stories, to awareness posts or funny entertainment stories from one of my past trips!
Now on to today’s blog!
Since the beginning of covid I have honestly been extremely depressed. First masks. Then, limited contact. Closed stores. No gyms. 4 people per restaurant. It felt like the world would never be the same and it felt like everything just kept getting taken.
I have always struggled with depression since before I was in middle school. I have symptoms very close to those of BPD but due to past painful experiences I have never been able to stick with a therapist long enough to get diagnosed or to get real help.
Although I have such a high level degree of mental health problems I have always wanted to deal with them naturally.
Being who I am, I found travel, family and friends are the cure.
With covid taking all this away: our contact with people, our right to move freely I will admit I have struggled like I’m sure many others have.
This week I wanted to focus on finding the hidden gems 💎 in our own backyards…
No need to hop on a plane, a bus, a train, a boat…
No need to pay for hotels…
No need to book more than a couple hours of free time.
In my own backyard this week I focused on 3 hidden gems that I would like to share with you to show you just how simple it can be to find somewhere that calms you and makes you happy.
This is by far my favorite place to go hiking! It’s hilly, and mostly covered by many types of trees shading the paths. It was an old mountain biking trail which was partly abandoned. Now it sits as a favorite spot to hikers and nature lovers alike. It is perfect for picnics. Walks with your dog. Bike riding. And hiking.
